Babysitting Asher and making dinner while Rowen and Athalie went to the chiropractor. I love that after years of technological advances, our country has discovered that wrapping a baby around your body in a long piece of cloth is comfortable and practical. Maybe that's why mothers around the world have been doing that for years?

Babysitting Asher

I got to babysit my little nephew so his parents could go on their first post-baby date. That was really hard work. He slept almost the whole time and I got to read Francis Chan.

My new nephew

Asher Miller. My first nephew.

Proud parents walking down their driveway.

But he might be doomed with these guys. They are crazy!

Basket Social

My good friend Madison is trying to spend the next year out of the country on a missions trip. (For more info feel free to check out her site This of course, requires some money. So we planned a good old fashioned basket social. The girls all made nice lunches (mine is above) and the guys bid on them. They don't know which girl made which one, but they get to eat with whoever's basket they buy. We had a lot of fun, and some very generous guys spent over a $1000.00 that day on their combined lunches.

Drive to Seattle

A shot from just after sunrise as I drove across Idaho yesterday on my way to meet my new nephew.

Table Mountain

Beth and I spent part of the day hiking up and down Table Mt. This is maybe my favorite hike I've ever done and it was nice to come do it again. We managed to pull off 14 miles and 8,000 plus feet of elevation change in under 6 hours. Not bad considering we'd both given blood a day or so before.

More hiking etc...

Rock hunting on the "beach."

My friends Daniel, Nic, Chris, Billy and I did a backpacking trip from town to Granite Hot Springs this weekend.

We saw a rainbow, but cooking and eating in the rain was not the most fun.

This whole area burnt fairly recently.

Granite Hot Spring at the end of the trip was nice.
