Day trip to Yellowstone

Daniel, a couch surfer, and I got to take a day trip to YellowstoneIn a days drive from town to Yellowstone and back we saw 1 black bear, 3 grizzlies, 1 bald eagle, 1 big bull elk, 1 bull moose and a lot of pelicans, bison, elk, deer, and antelope. As well as many smaller creatures. I really live in an amazing place!

Old Faithful.

Grand Prismatic Hot Spring.

My couch surfer, Wes, fishing while we were stopped for lunch.

Mammoth Hot Springs.

Not good shots, but we did see a black bear, and three grizzlies.

Hike #2 to Amphitheater Lake

Snow is melting fast! Compare these to the completely frozen over shots I had of these lakes earlier this month.

Even though my town has a rodeo every Wednesday and Saturday evening all summer, I've never been to one. I attended part of this one to shoot some photos for my friend Phil who was participating in it. I guess this is what I've been missing all these years. Oh right, I'd still rather be backpacking. :)

More summer...

I had another overly full week. I got to take Daniel on some more hikes, tubing (my third run down Flat Creek for the year) and do a crazy work out.

We (my friends Madison, Natalie, Todd, Phil, Beth and Daniel) formed two teams and spent a morning racing to the top of Snow King, completing 150 pushups, 300 sit-ups, and 400 air squats as a team. Then raced back down. My team won, but below is how much energy we all had left once we finished. The whole work out took our team an hour and 24 min.

I took Daniel to the top of the tram and this was when we peaked over the edge into Corbets.

Daniel being goofy and showing off all of his newly acquired muscle. :)
