Hot springs again.

A day of hanging out in Huckleberry Hot Spring with some good friends again. Sunshine, beautiful weather, 4 hours in the water, a bottle of wine and some chocolate, it was a lot of fun.

Mama, I thought you might really like this. I remember how much you enjoyed looking at the frost or ice the few times we'd get this effect in PA. We had some crystals over two inches long. I haven't yet been able to get a good photo of any of the huge crystals. It's beautiful. And deadly. Hoarfrost make incredibly week layers in the snowpack and increases the number of avalanches that kill people. I hope all my friends are making good decisions and staying safe.

This was the sunset one evening from the street right in front of my house.

Games with the Rutz family

My friend Amy and I drove to Camino, CA this weekend for Kenny's memorial service. It was a bittersweet trip for sure. I wish we'd had a different reason for being there, but getting to know and hang out with his family was wonderful. They are an amazing group of people. Saturday we just spent the day relaxing and playing games. These shots are from that.

In memory of Kenny...

My good friend Kenny left this earth this past weekend in a tragic way.

Kenny, I miss you. I have ever since you left town. You were like my brother. And were one of the most genuinely caring guys I have ever know. You were one of the few people who I never have doubted loved me completely and just for who I was. And I think you made most people you were around feel the same. You are in a lot of my best memories (and photos) from last winter.

A random winter day...

Two friends and I hiked to Huckleberry Hot Springs, a natural and completely undeveloped spring.

And then came home again, made dinner, and had two great games of Settlers.
